As soon as she was contacted by a recruiter for an ABA company in Fall 2017 and she did her research on the field, Britt knew she wanted to not only pursue the entry level role of ABA therapist, but wanted to get her master’s degree and become a BCBA. As a student, Britt had the pleasure of working under several very strong clinicians, who developed her clinical excellence, compassion, understanding of trauma-informed care, and staff support. Britt graduated from Ball State University with her MA in ABA in May 2020, followed by passing her certification exam in August. Since then, she has been passionate about broadening her scope and competence through an abundance of continuing education opportunities, training on new techniques and tools, working with learners from age 1 to 19, and developing her understanding of the comorbidities (additional diagnoses) of her clients. Britt is additionally passionate about parent involvement in her learners’ journeys and collaborating with professionals in other fields to ensure learners receive access to the supports most appropriate to their needs. When she is not working, she is most likely spending time with her two kids, writing, going for long drives, or working on an art project.
